Azealia Banks reminded me of Missy

Well, Azealia Banks is in Japan now.
Welcome, Azealia.
I can show you around Shibuya if you want, cause I was born and grew up in Tokyo.
Alright, I'm joking.

I bought her 1st album "Broke With Expensive Taste" last week.
I've known her from "1991" and thought her sense of rhythm of rhyming was cool.

Philly's female rapper Eve was saying that she liked Azealia's word-play in some interviews.

Yes, songs in her album has a wit, word-plays, variety of languages and styles.
It was very entertaining to listen through.

And I thought she sounds like Missy sometimes.
When she went "ba-rom-pop-pom-pom"(drum sounds onomatopoeia) and "yippe yi yo, yippe yi yi yay".

Ear catchy phrases can be used by several rappers, but not only that, Azealia's voice has some deep tone like Missy's and that really made me feel like I was listening to Missy.
Both rappers are not very gangsta type rappers, and not the type that sells sex but both are good at word-play.

Back in 2000s, it was Lil' Kim who sang in a kind of strange tone in "This Is A Warning" and she sang "Time after Time" with Cyndi live.
These says we have more and more rappers who can sing (and singers who rap).
Nicki Minaj, Drake, Frank Ocean, M.I.A sings sometimes.

But Azealia can sing better than ordinary alternative rappers or crossover sing.
She once said she would be a Jazz singer if she quits rapping.

She has got such mad opinion in her mind as she was asked if she was an angry African-American in radio interview.
She has spoken out about white Hip Hop, black culture appropriated, sex and being digital native.
That will motivate her to express her own critical point of view about the world, and that's what her fans like about her.
