not many people have it in them to do something they love, simply because they love it. with no fuss and no compromise. but she knew what she was capable of and didn’t even need to try. if she wanted to do something she would and if she didn’t she’d say fuck off. it came easy to her and that’s why we all loved her so much. we believed every word she wrote, and it would sink in deep when she sang them. Amy paved the way for artists like me and made people excited about british music again whilst being fearlessly hilarious and blase about the whole thing. i don’t think she ever realised just how brilliant she was and how important she is, but that just makes her even more charming. although im incredibly sad about Amy passing im also reminded of how immensely proud of her i am as well. and grateful to be inspired by her. Amy flies in paradise xx

　

＜雑感＞
Amy　Winehouseの２００３年時のインタビューを見た。
晩年よりも饒舌である。
米アイドルグループ、「TLC」のメンバー故Left　Eyeが大好きだという。
僕も中学時代は彼女のソロアルバムを学校に持って行っていた。
それで、休み時間に歌詞カードを眺めるのである。
なんだか似た精神の持ち主を失ったようでとても残念に思う。


過剰摂取事故があるたび、向精神薬やアルコールの脅威を感じる。
第一に、本人は何がしたかったのか。
ただ、いつもより多い量を摂取しただけかもしれない。
あるいは、死ぬ気だったのかもしれない。
より多くの快楽を求めたのかもしれない。


脳の神経を直接作用するような、向精神薬。
理性を鈍くするアルコール。
これは本当に陰陽あわせもつ厄介な文明の利器だ。
痛み止めにもなるし、依存症にもさせる。
生の質（Quality　of　Life）を低下させもし（薬物濫用）、向上させもする（医療用途）。
一度脳が快楽を覚えてしまうと、欲求は激化する。
理性は勝てない。
理性は人間に与えられた唯一無二の特権だと思う。
これを放棄すること自体、自殺行為である。


演劇をずっと習ってきたAmy。
てっきりジャンキーを演じているのだと思っていた。
でもそうじゃなかったということは、きっかけを考えると、多分男が原因だろう。
椿鬼奴が男の影響でパチンコを始めたように。
僕の女友達が男の影響で「鉄拳」を始めたように。
酒井法子も小向美奈子もWhitneyも。
男で女は変わる。
のめりこんだ恋の場合は特に。

時間がない歌手、ネリー・ファータド

カナダの歌手、Nelly Furtadoと聞けば、何を想起するだろうか。

自由、強い意志、若者の揺らぎや過ちなどをテーマにした歌詞に、レゲエの影響が垣間見れる鼻にかかった牧歌的な明るさを帯びた歌声。

カナダという多文化国家におけるポルトガル系出自という民族性が、マイノリティ的反骨精神を生みだしている。

マイノリティであるが故に、それを完全肯定して謳歌する。
「Well, Well」、「I'm Like A Bird」、「Fresh Off the Boat」、「The Grass Is Green」はそんな足場のない浮遊感を高みに変換して、陽気に世間を見下ろしたような曲である。

「Trynna Finda Way」、「Picture Perfect」、「Saturdays」、「Bucket List」は強固なアイデンティティがないが故の「自分探し」と、その中での揺らぎを歌った曲。

若さの中で荒ぶる感情と、ありあまる時間をもてあそぶ欲望をテーマにした「Explode」、「Parking Lot」。

でもやはり夜には孤独と恐怖が影を降ろすのは
「Turn Off the Light」、「Scared of You」「One-Trick Pony」、「Afraid」、「Enemy」で歌に込めている。

こう俯瞰すると、すべての曲に孤独が共通している気がする。
そして、その中でよく出るフレーズがある。
それは「時間がない」ということだ。

こんな言葉は、テレビの中の婚期を逃した自虐的な女性タレントかネリーの口からしか聞けない言葉だろう。

まさにこの言葉が、彼女の人生観を表している。

「時間がない」＝老いる

若さに重きを置いた生き方。

これはいかにも現代アメリカ的な生き方である。
Ellen Degeneresもグラミー賞授賞式の司会の際に

「I'm not saying movies are the most important thing in the world because we all know the most important thing in the world is youth.」
と言っていた。

何度も同じことを何年も繰り返し鍛錬し、成熟を図る「道」の文化をもつ日本では、
まだアメリカほど若さが重視されていない。

若さに生きるのも一つの生き方、老成するのも一つの生き方。
